Walgreens had a monthly register reward deal on John Frieda foaming hair colour, when you buy one, you get a $2 RR. The cosmetics counter had a coupon for try me free on these, and since I have long hair, she gave me two coupons. I rang them up separately to trigger the register reward on each one, and ended up getting paid $4RR to try these! On a side note, while I was there, I walked around a little bit. In the toy section there are some pretty creepy looking barbie-like dolls. They are called MonsterHigh, have you seen these?

I spent most of yesterday at Disney for my birthday. One of my sisters sent me a picture that she drew of Mickey, and I had them sign it. While watching the electrical parade at night , I had a little snack. Who needs a birthday cake when you can have a giant Mickey shaped rice crispy!
This week there is a hot deal on Powerade Zero at Publix. They are on sale B1G1, and there is a manufacture coupon on Powerade's facebook page for B1G1. Combine the sale and coupon, and you get 2 free! (There was also a coupon previously available on coupons.com if you still have that one too.) If you don't see any on the shelves, check in the cooler in the front of the store, I found more flavors there.
I stopped by Walgreens on the way home from work today to check out the Easter clearance section. Everything was marked down to 50% off, and I got to pick up something I've had my eye on. The tubes of frosting are nice, but I was really after the Mickey shaped cookie cutter! It was $0.99, but I had a $1 register reward from last week, so it didn't end up costing anything. I may check back in a couple days to see what's left after everything is marked down to 75% or 90% off.
This week Publix had a great deal on strawberries. I ended up buying 5 containers, enough to fill 3 containers sliced, and a handful of the bigger ones I kept whole. After the sale price and competitor coupons, my total was $1.89. Now, what about those whole strawberries that I saved? I covered them in chocolate, and put green sprinkles on them! Perfect for the spring time. Happy Easter!
Everyone loves jello, right? I put together a layered jello dessert tonight that my mom makes. It's fairly easy to make, just a little time consuming, as you have to wait for each layer to set before adding the next, but boy is it delicious when its all done! A layer of basic jello mix. One down, 9 more to go! 2nd layer, this is a creamy mixture of sour cream, cool whip, and jello. 3rd layer, basic orange. 5th layer, basic raspberry. And a look at the final through the purple tinted pan. I'm convinced that my counters and refrigerator are not level, as each time i set the pan down it leans in a different direction! But it looks pretty all the same, try not to pay attention to how uneven and slanted the layers are. I would love to cut into it and show you, but what would they say if I showed up tomorrow with a giant piece missing! UPDATE: I took a picture of all the pretty colored layers! Layered Jello Dessert (I used a square pyrex pan; for a larger pan, you may need to use 2 small boxes or 1 larger box per set.) For each 4 1/2 serving box of jello, mix 1 package jello with 1 cup hot water. Split in 2 equal parts, about 3/4 cup in each. In 1st bowl, stir in a couple ice cubs, and then pour mix into pan. Refridgerate until set, about 20 minutes. In 2nd bowl, mix in 1 heaping tablespoon of sour cream, and 1 heaping tablespoon of cool whip. Stir in a couple of icecubs, and pour on the back of a spoon on top of the previous set layer. Repeat for desired number of layers. After helping a friend move this morning, I made a quick trip to Publix today to pick up some ingredients I needed in order to make a few things for Sunday. I also wanted to use my $1.50/1 Ritz coupons that came in the mail. Here's what I picked up: 1 Cuban Bread 20 Ritz Crackerfuls An onion 2 Breakstone Sour Cream 2 Organic Baby Spinich bags 1 Kraft Mozzarella 2 Knorr Veg. Soup mix 4 Maruchan Chicken noodles 2 Cool Whip 1 Chicago Bread loaf Total before coupons: $97.35 Total after coupons: $12.49 I will still need to make another trip the beginning of next week to pick up some milk and a couple other things that I don't need just yet. I'm off to go make spinach dip and dessert for tomorrow. Look for a post later tonight, or early Sunday morning.
I took Lukas, my german shepherd dog, to the vet today. Now that he's all up to date on his shots, we're safe to go to the park and walk around the outdoor mall again. He looks so exhausted in the picture above. Whats that you have in your hand? A treat! Ok, we can be friends again.
My Google Chrome finger sweatbands showed up in the mail today. Previously available here. Another thing that showed up was my coupon for a free Bic Pocker Lighter. There was a survey a couple weeks ago to vote on their new designs, and now I get to try one for free. I'm not a smoker, but they are always nice to have around the house for candles and when my mom visits, they tend to disappear :)
Did you get yours yet? At Walgreens last week, they were running a promotion where you get a $5 rebate when you purchase all 3 of the Gatorade G Series Fit products.
01 Prime $1.50 02 Perform $1 03 Recover $2.50 The total cost up front was $5 and a rebate form printed at the register, which would make them free. But there turned out to be a bonus! It also printed a give your opinion grocery feedback form to go online and take a survey about the products and receive a $5 rebate! This turned out to be a $5 money maker! I haven't got a chance to try them yet, but the flavors sound pretty good. |
