I made a trip to a local outdoor mall on Saturday and found a surprise deal - an Adidas tent had been set up in the parking lot! An outlet store outside of my town had extra inventory and was trying to sell everything. This tent was packed, and everything was so inexpensive I really had to hold back! They had clothing, shorts, shirts, pants, shoes, bags, socks, you name it! It did require a bit of digging, as they just had boxes sorted by mens and womens, and a rough size, but it was worth it! I spent just over $50, and $20 of it were things for my mom, so really I only spent $30! I was able to get 3 shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, and 2 backpack bags! You never know when you will catch a good deal!
I put together a small list for shopping at Walmart on Saturday. There were some items with coupons, but the I also took advantage of price matching other store ads.
2 Cantaloupe = $1.98 (Price Match) 5 Cucumbers = $1.00 (Price Match) 4 LB Bag Oranges = $1.59 (Price Match) Quacker Rice Cakes = $2.98 (I love these things! Better than caramel popcorn!) 2 Bags Bagels = $2.86 Bananas = $0.62 Can Pear Halves =$1.38 Can Pineapple = $1.00 Bic Pens = $0.97 ($0.03 MM after coupons) GV Yogurt = $3.76 There was a lady in line after me that I started talking with. She asked me why I had the Albertsons, Sedanos, Target, and Winn-Dixie ads in my hand. I explained to her that you can price match them at Walmart and she had no idea! I love sharing that information with others! _This weekend I spent volunteering at an event being held at Disney World. On Saturday was the Disney Half Marathon, and Sunday was the Marathon. Sunday I was helping with the water station located at about mile 21 of 26.2. Except I wasn't somewhere flashy like yesterday behind Epcot, I was located on a stretch of road. Only at Disney World can they close out a major highway road to have it be part of the course! There were about 21,000 runners that came through, and since it was much warmer today, the runners were taking 2 or 3 cups of water! Now that's a lot of cups total! In addition to being able to help the runners, I also got to check out all of the costumes. Although its not required, many people wear costumes or dress up for fun. I saw pirates, princesses, Buzz, Woody, Little Bo Peep, lots of Mickey and Minnie's, The Three Caballeros, and so many more costumes. I tried to get a picture of the runners, but I don't think I was able to get any costumes; I couldn't exactly ask them to stop and pose for me now could I?
This weekend I spent volunteering at an event being held at Disney World. On Saturday was the Disney Half Marathon, and Sunday was the Marathon. Saturday I helped at a powerade/water stop located behind the scenes at Epcot. It was really neat because normally you wouldn't be allowed back there unless you were a runner or a cast member, a part of the park that I would never see as a passholder. The Half Marathon started sometime around 5am! There were about 27,000 runners that came through. Yes, twenty-seven and three zeros! My station with two others - mixing the powerade with the water. There was the metal paddles sticking out of the top of the jug so we could stir the powder with the water; I felt like a pioneer churning butter or something old fashioned!
